Do You Know Jesus?

I guess more than asking you this question, I would like to know what do you know about Jesus? Who is Jesus for you? Do you have a reaction when you hear that name? Is it familiar to you? Or is it a name you learned in school, in church, or even in the US money? Maybe you come from parents that went to church and taught you. Or maybe you simply read a book somewhere, or maybe, dare I even say it, you have read the Bible. The bottom line is, that whatever your experience with God or His Son Jesus, it is an individual experience. It goes beyond church, life, family, a book that is tucked away in the drawer of ever hotel, etc., it has to be yours, and not anyone else's. And the question must be asked, not if you know Jesus, but rather who is He to you.

See, I know who He is to me: He is my friend, my comforter, my best friend, my counselor, my doctor, my psychologist (and believe me I need one!), my peace, my light, my truth, my salvation, my sun, my oxygen, my King, my provider, my supplier, my strength, my refuge, my desire, my purpose, my wisdom, etc., and could probably spend here all night telling you more and more. But this is who He is for/to me.

What about you? Do you know who He is to you? Other than the Son of God who became a man, came down to earth from heaven, died in a cross for the sins of His children, was killed, went to hell where He was tormented for three days, and He rose up (resurrected) after the third day, rose and went up to heaven , offering God His blood to seal the covenant of our salvation, and is now seated at the right hand of the Father; so what else do YOU know about Him?

I want you to ponder on that question; not because it is Easter Sunday, but because it is important that you define your belief in Him, and place your faith in the right person. He will never leave you, like people do all the time, He won't betray or hurt you, and He loves you much more than anyone else in the universe ever could. Not even your parents, partners, siblings, partners, or children could love you as He can. Treat Him as your best friend, and talk to Him as one. You will see that He won't disappoint, because it really isn't in His nature to do so. LOVE is His nature:

  • For God so LOVED the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life (John 3:16 ).
  • But God demonstrates His own LOVE toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8).
  • But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great LOVE with which He loved us, (Ephesians 2:4)
  • Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who has LOVED us and given us eternal comfort and good hope by grace, (2 Thessalonians 2:16)
  • In this is LOVE, not that we loved God, but that He LOVED us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins (1 John 4:10)
  • …and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth To Him who LOVES us and released us from our sins by His blood—(Revelation 1:5)

Yes, salvation is in store when you confess and accept Him as your Lord and Savior, but His Love, to me, is even more priceless.

To you with love,

Victoria

Welcome To All!

Hello my brethren:

For a very long time, I have kept diaries, and journals depicting my walk with God. They reflect my daily walk with Him. I had always felt a calling by the Holy Spirit to share my feelings about Him with people, and I hadn't decided to do it until now. Being a Christian goes beyond attending church and listening to a sermon every week. It really is a daily walk, hand-in-hand with God. It is believing His Word to be true, and acting on it! That is really what faith is all about. It is realizing that we cannot do anything unless it's with His help, and understanding that God wants a relationship with us. He is not a God that is interested in what we do for Him.

He is a God that is seeking fellowship with His children. Now, that doesn't mean that at times we may not feel discouraged, or beaten by life's troubles; not at all. It simply means that we do not have to go at it alone. That we have someone who wants to help us and is there always, and won't bail on us when things get tough. I will write this blog because He asked, and I chose to listen; and because I hope to help and encourage you to seek Him with all your heart. I am far from being perfect, as you will witness, but in times where I am hurt, maybe even down a little, I look up and throw myself into the arms if a God that is loving (giving me unconditional love), merciful (forgiving my sins), full of grace (not leaving me nor forsaking me even when I deserve it), and a magnificent comforter (consoling me when I need it the most); not to mention the most powerful being in the universe.

Join me in giving Him praise and honor for all the works of His hands, and for giving us life in abundance. I love you all in Christ, and hope this is a blessing for you, as He is a blessing for me.

Much love,

Your sister Victoria
